Oceans Ltd. operates a 24/7 weather forecasting office from its St. John's location with an additional weather office at its Halifax location. Currently, the company is the major provider of weather forecasting services to the oil and gas industry in Atlantic Canada.
METEOROLOGISTS
Oceans Ltd. is seeking applications for the St. John's Weather Office. Qualifications Minimum requirements are a bachelor's degree in meteorology, or a bachelor's degree in mathematics, physics or related science along with a diploma or certificate in meteorology from an approved university.
Additional assets include professional training through the Meteorological Service of Canada, or equivalent, and previous experience in an operational forecasting environment. Proficiency in highlevel computer programming languages (particularly C/C++) and research abilities are desirable.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines are essential.
